I'm interested in making my own recipes..are their any books/websites/vids that can help me with that. I'm not just looking for recipes from others. Not sure where to start.
 
Designing Great Beers by Daniels is great.

I think you should just look at a lot of beers you enjoy and find a clone recipe. You might think one RIS is too roasty, for instance, and find the clone recipes and how much roasted barley it has.
 
I'll have to check it out. I've only done two extracts but my overall goal is designing my own beer.

That was mine as well. I started with one extract kit, thin moved to All grain Brew in a bag for 3 and now I use a cooler MLT for the last 4. Look at established recipe and start with them as a base and experiment with them. EdWorts house Pale Ale is a great foundation for the style. That was my first all grain, and from there I have done a few changing out hops and malts based on that. I have done one SMaSH, and should really do more to learn the flavor profiles of different ingredients.
