Looking for some cleaning tips. I moved my first batch from primary to secondary, but cannot get rid of the green beer smell from the plastic bucket. I used regular dishwashing liquid first, then moved on to letting it sit overnight full of Oxyclean (maybe not a strong enough mixture??).

I have avoided scrubbing so as not to scratch, etc. Is this normal? Will it affect my next batch?

thanks all:mug:

Oxyclean, bleach, or the like always cleans out the buckets enough for me. As long as it is cleaned and sanitized, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

if its sanatized properly it wont matter and if oxyclean doesnt remove it your pretty much f-d...it wont matter....are you positive its a food grade bucket?

Purchased from my LHBS, so yes.

thanks guys, it is alot better after the oxyclean. I just had my wife take a whiff and she says it just smells clean, so no worries:D.
