Paint inside of kegerator?

Hello. I have a True TDD1 and it has some light rust along the sides of the interior where the stainless floor meets the steel (?) sides. I was going to mask it off and spray some gray rustoleum on it. Are there any concerns with doing this? Thanks.
 
Anybody know of a good option to attach to the 1/2" overfow line under the faucets so the spilled beer doesn't leak into the kegerator? I was just going to use a pop bottle but it'd be nice to find something purpose built that seals well. Thanks.
