I am new to the Lake County area and am wondering if there are any home brew supply stores in the area. I live in Winthrop Harbor, Il, and the only place I have seen that has anything brewing related was an outdoors store at the Gurnee Mall, and even then all I saw that they sold was a starter kit.

If anyone knows of a store locally please let me know.
 
Closest place I've found, but haven't ventured beyond the cheddar curtain in search of a LHBS yet, is this place : http://www.undergrounddigital.com/brewersguide/index.html

Perfect Brewing, in Mount Prospect. It's located in the warehouse of Schumacher Electric (owned by the NHRA's Tony Schumacher).

Helpful staff, good prices, etc.

There are several of us from Lake County who hang around these parts. :) Welcome!
 
Or the closest place North of you is DP Wigley, downtown Racine, WI.
The added a HB section over the summer.
