Raspberry flavor

I'm eventually wanting to clone my favorite beer McMennamin's Ruby Ale and looking for some people with experiences in the following:

Raspberry Exctract (Syrups)
Artificial flavoring (Powders)
Frozen (Those 1lb baggies at the supermarket)
Fresh (Go out and damn pick some)
Puree (Like those pre-made smoothie mixes)

If you have done more than one of these I'd be very very interested in your comparisons. If you've done any I'd love to hear about your experience with the medium you chose and maybe what you would do if you could do it again.

PS: If your ever in the Northwest check out a McMennamins... even if you don't go for a Ruby Ale.
