I'm looking for a recommendation on software that will convert a 5 gallon recipe to different size batch, say 6 gallons or 3 gallons. Will most programs do this? What would you recommend for a new brewer.
 
BeerSmith, Brewers Friend, BrewTarget all do this. I think most brewing software will.
 
Any software that allows you to edit recipes should be able to do this. For me, I just keep it simple and multiply by the ratio of the batch size to recipe size.

example: 3 gallon batch from a 5 gallon recipe. 3/5=0.6. Therefore i use 0.6x each ingredients.
