I was just looking through the pantry to find something to eat and i saw a big bottle of maple syrup and i started to wonder. Has anyone ever tried using maple syrup in any of their beers? Kinda thinking maybe a nut brown would be pretty good with a maple syrup twist. It has to be almost completly fermentable too

I used it in a breakfast stout not too long ago. It ended up pretty damn tasty. It is highly fermentable. The darker the syrup though, the more flavor you'll end up with at the end.

Do a little searching, many have used maple in beer and will gladly give feedback. Im planning to do a batch in a month or so and going to start with 1/2 gallon at flame out.

i gotta get a better form of income besides unemployment before i start brewing to much again...hopefully soon
