I have a ten gallon pot that I have installed a weldless fitting and valve on. I would like to install a pickup tube and false bottom at some point soon. After cooling the wort down, do I whirlpool to cause the trub to collect in the center of the pot and begin to drain? Should the whirlpool be continued during the draining process? Would whirlpooling be necessary with a false bottom and a pickup tube?

Appreciate the advice and comments.

From what I have read, yo want to begin your whirlpool at the end of the boil (flameout) then let it sit for 10-15 minutes to let it settle. Then transfer to your primary (from the side of the pot of course).
