Should a new wort chiller be conditioned with boiling water and vinegar before being used for the first time? My buddy made a new one this past weekend and we gave it a wipe-down with Oxiclean and water, then added directly to the boil. Will this produce any off-flavors due to the copper?

Should be fine. When I first got mine I just washed it with water and dish soap, then added it to the boil. Beer turned out great

Make sure you wash it thoroughly with soap and water, especially between the coils. A lot of times there are oils used in the manufacturing process left on the chiller.

you should be fine. I soaked mine in star san for like 10 mins then wiped/rinsed it off.
