I'm flying into Reno and driving up to Tahoe tomorrow night for a nice little weekend away with SWMBO. Really looking forward to it. No real agenda. Any suggestions for things to do or see? Any bands playing that anyone may know about? How about breweries? Is there one there? How about eats? Any hidden away local spots someone may recomend? Thanks guys!

Hit up Friday's Station Steak and Seafood at the top of Harrahs Casino. My parents have been going there for years. My wife and I went last time we were out there as well. Awesome food, great service and a spectacular view of the sunset over the lake. Expect to spend about $150 if you get dinner and drinks.
If you like history check out Vikingsholm ( http://www.vikingsholm.org/ ) and bring cash or checks if you want the tour (no CCs). If you've been to a casino before then you can pretty much skip all the casinos, they are nothing special.
The beaches are pretty drab IMO, nothing special there.
If you like to hike check out the eagle lake hike http://www.tahoesbest.com/hiking/shorthikes.htm

Also, parking at all the parks/trailheads usually requires cash and honor system, but they check and will tow if you didn't actually pay.

are you going to north or south tahoe? I went to heavenly in march and it was awesome!!! You can take the gondola to the observation deck and have great views plus in the heavenly village there is state line brewery. They have about 5 different brews made on site. Didn't make it too far out of heavenly so not sure whats on the north end.

I've been to state line brewery several times, honestly every offering of their brewed beer I've had has been terrible. Fortunately they carry a decent selection of west coast craft beers.

I've only ever been to south lake in the winter/spring for snowboarding, but apparently it's popular in the summer also for mountain biking, hiking & water sports.

The Casino's are nothing special really.
