I got a handful of different Belgians today like Terrible, Trois Pistoles, and Bokrijks Kruikenbier and a few others. Anyway I see there's printed numbers on some of the bottles but they make no real sense to me. For instance the Kruikenbier has 19/03/13 on the back, is the the expiration date or a weird code for production.

I know cigar manufacturers use some weird codes for dating boxes so I was wondering if Belgians did the same.

Thanks for any help.

Europeans transpose the date and month. So 19/03/13 would be 3/19/13 to us. Not sure if it's a "best-before" date or a "drink-by" date, but either way, it's 3 years away...
