I don't know if someone else has posted this yet but...
While researching silicone for an aquarium, I discovered RTV615. It is a two part potting silicone (meaning no air contact is needed) that is FDA approved. It is optically clear so you can see if the contacts have become compromised. I think it would make a good contact sealer for those of you whom desire to seal the contacts in PVC couplings.
