OK, so I didn't know better than to put my hydrometer in the dishwasher when I was done using it. Now it has about 3/8" of water in it. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I assume it will go away eventually, but I've got ale in my bucket, and I'm sure to have use for it within the next week. Do I need to blow taps and get a new one, or do you think this one will be OK?

It also means your hydrometer has a leak and will potentially harbour pathogens. Toss it and get a new one!

Probably has a hairline crack. Even if you can get the water to evaporate out I would get rid of it before it cracks in half, possibly in your beer. Probably take forever for the water to evaporate too, can you wait that long??
