Being new to homebrewing and all, I bought a turkey fryer off of craigslist and didn't really inspect everything at first. Upon looking closer at the stainless steel pot (the main reason why I bought it) I can see swirling surface scratches at the bottom of the pot. There are no gauges or anything that I can feel with my finger though.

Since this will be used for only the boil, is the pot still usable? Would an extra thorough clean/sanitize be needed both before and after? I think a prolonged boil should be enough to kill off anything but I'd like to hear from some experts before I ruin a batch. Thanks.

If you are talking about the circle pattern on the bottom, that is normal.
