Hello all, tried to search the forums, but had no idea how to word this. What is the best way to syphon out of a fermentation bucket, ie so you don't get the yeasties too???

Sanitize a 5 gal paint strainer bag (purchased at most hardware stores) and place it over the end of the racking cane that you put in the bucket/fermenter.

My racking cane had a clip to hold it to the side of the bucket. I just clipped it so the end was way above the trub to start and then lowered it as the beer was removed.

It won't hurt if you get a little bit of the yeast either, since it has already clumped up and settled out, it settles pretty fast again.
