Just finished hooking up my new kegerator setup. Would love to know what you guy recommend for insulating the collar.

1" foam board, the closed cell type, not the white porous stuff, usually its pink or blue.

Do you think it's even neccecary? I've had it runnning for the last 5 days or so and with it set at 38f I haven't seen the freezer on very often...which leads me to believe its pretty efficient as-is.

Blue is denser than pink if I remember right (been a few years)
If it is holding with no major draw then it's your decision. Personally I would just because I would rather do the overkill and not have to worry about it later if it does need it.
