Looks fine. Not quite in the same category as a Thermapen, but I would assume it's sufficient for brewing. The biggest disadvantage I can see is the slower response time. So long as you are fine with holding the probe there for ~3x as long to get a good reading, it ought to be fine.
 
Thanks for the responses...I just said "screw it", and ordered a Thermapen. I'm hoping it's the last thermometer I buy, lol
 
For what it's worth I have used the same one on brewday for over three years now. I did end up getting another one about 6-8 months ago when they were on sale, just so I could keep one in the kitchen for regular cooking and one by my brew stand for brewing.
 
I have the RT600C as well. Couldn't see the point in spending $75 more on 3 seconds. (RT600C vs Thermapen response time, btw)
