Propane "Y" Splitter

It took me forever to track down this part, so I figured I would share it with you.

It's a propane tank "Y" Splitter so that you can heat both your kettle and HL tank at the same time off one tank.

Thought I would put this up here so that when the next guy searches for it, they can find it.

I have one of those for my 100lb tank (the old style, not OPD) and it works great.

Is there enough pressure to operate two burners at the same time?

While this is not as compact as your splitter its easy to get and is 16" or 30" high. Its good for the smaller tanks. but should work on the 100 tank too. You can also get them in a 30" only model for less. Just another option. It does give you 3 outlets I have run two burners on a 20 lb tank before. Never had a pressure problem.

For local, try an RV store. I have one that does the reverse( two tanks to one output).

If I was running propane, I'd probably go with one hi pressure reg on the tank and just split the output at the hose using a simple brass hose barbed TEE with some clamps and regulate the proportions with small ball valves. That's the way most brewstands are done as far as I can tell. I'm on NG though so I'm speaking in theory. Of course, if you need the burners to be separated at any time, having their own regulators is a must.

About a week ago I threw together a T with a nipple as Bobby descibed. I think the parts were under $5 total.
