Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale

Just tried one for the first time last night (as well as the 90 min IPA which was awesome). To me, it smelled like rum. It tasted like rum too at first but then the after taste was nice and smooth. Is this normal or could it have been because I noticed after that the bottling date was nearly a year ago?

I just finished 5 of these. The sixth is still in the fridge. I loved it. So roasty. What makes it a brown ale and not a porter? it's so dark!

"Rum" taste sounds about right. The alcohol taste was a lot stronger than I was expecting the first time I had it.

This was my first true "craft" beer in college. At first I thought it was awful, drank a few more out of a glass rather than a bottle. Now I'm a big DFH fan.

I like this one as well. I like the roasty flavor. It clearly isn't porter status, but the roast hides a lot of the hops. I dig it, but its not really a session beer for me. I prefer the 60 min IPA for that...

I'd give this one a 'B'

Really like this stuff, one of the few things from DFH I really like.
