Best Beer History Book

I am new to the homebrewing world, and would really like to find a good "history of beer" book. Not talking about homebrewing books with just a 2 page forward about the history of beer...more of the meat and potatoes. How it came into existence, how they made it thousands of years ago...the cool intricate details of how it came to be what it is today. Anything like that out there?
 
Well, you could try "Origin and History of BEER and BREWING" by John Arnold (Wahl-Henius institute of fermentology), I've just started it so not sure about it yet, maybe someone else that has read it can chime in. Maybe you can find it in the library first? The first chapter was pretty dry but it was about the beginnings of alcohol being steeped in or driven by religion.
 
Radical Brewing by Randy Mosher has a lot of great beer history in it. Especially a lot on the unique quirky stuff that various groups have tried putting into beer over the years. And it also has lots of great recipes.
