How would I go about making a one gallon batch of cider. I bought it from the store... do I have to just put in some nottingham yeast, an airlock and wait? Do I have to boil it like beer?

Does it have any preservatives in it besides ascorbic acid? If so, drink as juice, if not, pitch those yeasties, no boiling required!

If you boil it you'll just get a ridiculously cloudy cider, so no need. Basically yeah, pitch the yeast in and keep the temperature within the range for the yeast.
