Planning a pumpkin beer for fall. Pumpkins are growing nicely in garden...
How many gravity points can I count on per pound of fresh pumpkin? will be using 3-4 lbs of pumpkin baked at 350° for 1 hour prior to using in mash.
Here's the recipe I came up with:
3-4 lbs pumpkin
6lb american 2row pale
1lb vienna
1lb munich
.5 60lvb crystal
.5 carapils
.5 oz amarillo 60 min
.5 oz amarillo 45min
1tsp cinnamon
3/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp mace
7grm sweet orange peel
US-05 american ale yeast
specs without pumpkin:
OG 1.044 (higher with pumpkin but how much?)
FG 1.011
IBU 25
ABV 4.3 % (higher with pumpkin but how much?)
SRM 7
