My first year cascade is about a foot and a half tall, however it is already throwing out side arms? Should i trim these off, so it can focus on growing upward? It has three shoots growing up, and on advice on the forum i left all three, however what about all these off shoots? I have 4 other styles of hops and this is the only one that has done this.

Don't cut anything on your first years. Just water them well and let them go. You won't get many hops off them, but if you let them do their thing, you'll have a better crop next year.
