Can anyone point me in the direction of a good light "island" lager recipe. You know the kind you find on a Caribbean island and drink on the beach. Something that is in the ballpark of the following beers.

-Dos Equis (green bottle)
-Red Stripe
-Carib Lager
-Presidente

Dos Equis green bottle is my favorite. Add a lime and I'm a happy guy.

Not exactly. Its a mildly adjuncty 5% abv pils/lager, with a touch more hops than a bud, and not as much adjunct. This is my guess:

1.048-1.052 OG

85-90% Pils malt, (you could add 2% acid malt to help reach mash ph without too much minerals)
10-15% Corn

Mash at 149, Ca should be between 30-50ppm. Keep sulfate very low.

20-25 IBUs total.

1oz (per 5 gal) Some sort of hallertau like hop @ 20
3/4 oz Some sort of hallertau like hop @ 10

wlp940 modelo strain, ( or 34/70 if you want dry.)
