Made a starter a few hours ago, and took a wif of the
White Labs yst out of the tube (WLP400) and thought it smelled odd.
Granted, this is the first time I've used this yst, so I don't know what to expect.
Can anyone ease my fears of a bad tube of yst?

I have a brew cooking now with that yeast and IT STINKS!!!! SWMBO thought my brew was infected cuz of the smell. I cannot describe the smell but it is almost enough to make you gag. But.... you know us crazies, I kept smelling it every time the airlock would bubble. So good--- yest so bad.

I would say you are ok.
