never done it before untill this weekend...

a few questions, after the fact... ;)

do you guys just toss the hops in the secondary, or do you put em in a baggy?

i didn't have a baggy, and just tossed the whole hops and about half an oz of pellets into the big barley wine we brewed on 1/1/6... they made a nice mess and caused it to foam up a bit. i helped it along by shaking the jug a bit. they collected at the top for a few days and are now starting to sink to the bottom.

do i need to rack it a third time whilst aging it, or should i just leave em in there?

i'm leaning towards leaving them in there, i don't see any harm coming from it, but i'll defer to more experienced advice in the dry hopping.

cheers.

yep, i just through 'em in then rack on top of them. most will settle out after week or so.i always just left it in secondary until i was ready to keg. but, that's just me.
