I'm going to brew denny's waldo lake amber. I know it calls for WY1450, but since it isn't available...what is the next best one? I have some wlp051 (cal ale V) and some us-05, would either of these work or is there something better?

Wyeast American Ale II 1272 would be the better choice. I believe this is what Denny recommends when his 1450 is not available. However since you have 051 on hand I think it would do just fine. 05 would dry it out too much.

I have used US-05 on that and it was excellent. This beer has LOADS of malt and hop flavor.
