I'm brewing a beer right now. I just got some star san I'm trying. I know you say don't worry about the foam! I was going to ferment in a carboy, but after cleaning with star San it's like totally full of foam! Is it ok to fill it with the wort?
Remove as much as you can.
I'm not a big fan of the foam, I would rather have all beer in the brew process. Remove as much as you can.
Don't fear the foam

2nd,,, this is a long time brewers saying, you may want to thin the mix out a little next time, but don't fear the foam!
Just hold your carbon upside down until the liquid star San falls out...the foam is not going to hurt anything
When using star San does it have to dry completely before coming in contact with beer or wort?
Golddiggie said:It's a 'wet contact' sanitizer. Meaning, it's effective protection while WET. Letting it dry negates it's protection layer.
Thanks. That is what I thought. I was confused because the bottle says to let it dry.
mammothkraken said:Also save your starsan. Get a 5 gallon bucket and mix up a batch, when you're done sanitizing everything pop it back in the bucket and store in the garage. I've been using the same starsan for 3 months and it still works great.
I saved my batch of star San. That definitely helps. Do you check the PH? I heard if the PH is less than 3.5 it is still usable.
