Magic hat IPA on tour; "Encore" clone help

I have not seen a clone kit for this Magic Hat brew yet, but I sure would like to see one. As this is a pretty tasty IPA!

    Ferocious IPA piney?

My kit came with some Simcoe leaves for dry hopping. Just about done with all my Ferocious and about to bottle my Octane IPA tonight! Not sure if I will be buying the Ferocious IPA anytime soon, only b/c I want to try out some other recipes first. However, I have NO complaints it would highly...

    Ferocious IPA piney?

I am actually drinking on some Ferocious IPA's right now. I don't get any heavy piney flavors out of this brew. The only thing that I would change is doing late additions of the LME. However, it is not overly sweet due to all of the hops used in this recipe. I get all of the bitterness and...

    First wort hopping

From what I understand with boiling hops in wort is the longer or earlier you put them in BK the more bitter flavors come out and give your brew a nice bite. It's pretty much the opposite of dry hopping, which gives you more of a hoppy flavor and aromatics. I'm sure some of the more experienced...

    Rye???

I'm really excited about the Dry Rye Roggenbier from Midwest I purchased yesterday. I can not wait to get this spicy/bready brew started! I opted for the Wyeast Activator for the first time, so we will see what happens.

    Steeping grains?

I get most of my ingredients/kits from Midwest Supplies. On all the kits that I have brewed with specialty grains they say that brewing with a full 5 gallons gets better hop utilization, less darkening of your wort, and a better tasting beer. I've steeped grains in a full 5 gallons every time...

    Dishwasher to sanitize bottles?

Well I just bottled an IPA 2 weeks ago and it was the first time I used just the dishwasher for sanitary purposes. I only left them in the dishwasher long enough to cool down, so I hope they won't be sour when it comes time to drink in a week or so. However, regardless of the results I will be...

    Star San solution in fermenter

I have an IPA in the carboy that I finished up last night, and I heard a really weird noise around 4am. I went to go check it out and my airlock was full of wort! I quickly took off the airlock and replaced it with some sanitized siphon tube from earlier and stuck it into a glass jar full of...

    Bittering Hops

I am dry hopping with some Simcoe at the moment, so I will let ya know how I feel about them in a couple weeks. I would also like to know how every one stores there excess hops cones and pellets. Im waiting on a half lbs. of Challenger pellets, and was just wondering what the best way to store...
