Started my first batch of hard cider. Constructive criticism welcome!

I had the same thing happen the first time I tryed to brew some stuff called Skeeter Pee. I did what frydogbrews posted above and it started to bubble inside of a couple days after that.

What extra stuff do you need for wine compared to beer?

Its all the same equipment for brewing beer or wine except you'll need a corker if you use wine bottles. I started with wine and then made beer. I only needed to buy a stainless pot and bottle capper to do beer. I suggest starting out with a kit for your first few batches till you get a feel for...

Unscented Detergent - is there such thing?

I've used both.... Prefer OxiClean Free with the green lid... but thats just my 2 cents worth.

Started my first batch of hard cider. Constructive criticism welcome!

I did the same thing as you. Only I was able to find un-pasteurized right from the press (un-pasteurized or cold pasteurized are recommended because of flavor) and got enough for a 5 gallon batch. I then added 1 crushed Campden tablet per gallon and let it sit overnight to kill any wild yeast...

What kind of handgun to get?

9mm is the way to go. How much are you looking to spend? If your looking new, the best bang for the buck I've found is the Smith and Wesson Sigma 9mm. Can be found new for around $350.00 (or less with a mail in rebate). Closely resembles the Glock as you can see in the pic below.
