What apples did you use for your hard cider?
Did you add cane sugar or honey?
What yeast did you use?
Have you made this hard cider before?
The reason I am asking is I am thinking of doing some hard cider.
The apple orchards here in west michigan let you buy fresh squeezed apple juice with no perservatives. They say to bring any container of your own and they will fill it up cheap.
I allready did New Haven second crop picking peaches.
For whatever reason the first picking is not as sweet and the flesh clings to the peach pit.

I used fresh squeezed apple cider from one of the local cider mills. All I did was add yeast and yeast nutrient. I didnt add any sugar or honey to it. From what I read, adding sugar or honey would just up the alcohol content. It should finish out at about 6% without adding anything according to my hydrometer. This is my first batch, so we'll see how it ends up. If I decide it could've used more sugars, I'll add a cup of brown sugar to the next batch.
