    Experience/reviews of Anvil burner

I am looking at getting a new burner and like the looks of the Anvil, if anyone has thoughts/experience with it that would be great. Was also considering the Blichmann or Edelmetal, but would like to try and keep the price down a little. Thanks for your help.

Scottish ale for a bourbon barrel

A group of us are planning a big brew day to fill a 53 gallon bourbon barrel and I was looking for some suggestions for a relatively simple scotch ale recipe. I also wanted to know if it needs to be a big beer(>9%) or could it be modest(6-8%)? Also, how long would you recommend leaving it in...

Wanted to know how people are attaching them to their kettles without drilling a hole. Would like to have some way to secure it without putting a hole in my pot. Thanks

Rough week in the home brewery

had a bad few days, first I broke my autosiphon a couple of days ago trying to get the tubing off. Then today a blonde I was brewing to enter a competition turned into an APA after a hop addition snafu and to finish it off I forgot to turn off the power to my element after cleaning the pot and...

    E-BIAB finished and tested

Built a 2.5-4 gallon system based off of johnoden's build, just with a smaller element. Here are some of the finished pics, the square plug is for the power in and the round is to the pot. The last picture is a trial run with water and working on the autotune.

    Control panel wiring questions

I have started a build for an E-BIAB system base on this one and have a couple wiring questions. Looking at the switch diagram, could I go from one X1 post to another and run the neutral wire from the last switch back to the incoming wire(kind of like a jumper from one X1 post to another)...

    Questions for E-BIAB build

I am looking at putting together a system based on the johnodon build and had some questions about some parts and adding an alarm to the wiring diagram. First question is what type of plug receptacles do I use to build the wire from the element to the control box? Second is would it be...

Control panel for 120 and 240 systems

I am planning a build for a 2.5 gallon system with a PID controller similar to jrb03's, but I would also like to be able to make the occasional 5 gallon batch in a separate pot. Am able to do basic wiring and would be looking for any recommendations on what would be needed to do this. It would...

    Hit all my numbers

For the first time in 10 all-grain brews, I managed to hit the pre-boil gravity and OG spot on. Also had all the volumes, feels good to finally get it right.:ban: Normally all of my numbers end up a little high, which is no big deal just a little stronger drink.

Free grains, some several years old

Had a friend give me some uncrushed specialty grains and a 55lb bag of munich malt type I, they were stored in rubbermaid totes and the specialty grains were in ziplock bags inside the tote. My question is how do I know if they are still good to use other than brewing with them? They still...

    Recommendation for good wheat beers

I am looking for some wheat beers, preferably unfiltered, that may be available in the midwest. I have not had a lot of experience with this type, blue moon and shock top, and was not impressed with those. Looking to expand my knowledge and tastes for them, thanks in advance for the help.:mug...
