    Carbonating in a growler.

It's weird. It seems like discussions about bottling in swing-top growlers split into two camps: been doing it for years and it's fine or DON'T DO IT!

    Flip Top Growler Bottling?

I've got a couple of 2l growlers that I'd like to try next bottling day...how much head space do you leave in them?

    How it'd go?

Bottling in a swing top growler

How far up do you fill the 2 liter growlers when you condition in them? To the bottom of the finger hole?

    Carbonating in a growler.

Question: If I'm conditioning in a 2l growler, how far up do I fill it? It's technically over 67 oz.; should I figure out where the 64 oz. mark is or just leave an inch or two of headspace?? Trying to avoid a growler bomb.

    Mississippi Beer Brewing Laws??

As of July 1, the law has changed on ABV. You can now purchase beer at 8.2%ABW, which is about 10%ABV. Homebrewing is still technically illegal. Please visit Raise Your Pints for more information on Mississippi's retarded beer laws: http://www.raiseyourpints.com/ And, you should care...

    Belgian Dubbel question

Yes, I do use StarSan...that's probably it. I'm going to leave it in secondary as it doesn't look like anything is spreading or growing eyeballs or anything. :cross: Thanks for the advice!

    Belgian Dubbel question

I sure thought we sanitized everything well. We are very cautious, in my opinion. I've heard the white film (has some flakes of white, too) is nothing to worry about, but I've also heard there's a 50/50 chance it'll ruin the batch. My last brew was a Franziskaner Dunkel Weisse clone and the...

    Belgian Dubbel question

Hey all, I racked my NB Belgian Dubbel to secondary last week after 2 weeks in primary. It's developing that thin white film on top that everyone says is mostly harmless unless it sits too long. My question is: should I bottle it now or wait the full month that NB recommends for secondary...

    6 weeks, 5 batches in, I'm addicted

I don't care what they say about heroin, homebrewing has GOT to be more addictive.

    Mississippi Beer Brewing Laws??

That's another thing I don't understand, Boomtown25, homebrewing was federally legalized in 1978. Why MS and AL felt the need to negate that is beyond me. Btw, how is your Amarillo IPA? Did you get the kit from Midwest?

    Mississippi Beer Brewing Laws??

Boomtown, the law is 5%ABW which translates to 6.3%ABV. Check out www.raiseyourpints.org for answers to all of the questions raised on this thread. Cheers!:tank:

    Mississippi Beer Brewing Laws??

I'm confused. So, those of us in MS and AL should not be upset about the homebrewing ban in our states because it's in our own best interest?

    Mississippi Beer Brewing Laws??
