    Minneapolis Brew Pub?

Hey all. I am going to be in Minneapolis for a day on my way through to a canoe trip in the Quetico Provincial Park. I will be with three adults and a 15 and 20 year old. We will be picking up a couple more people at the airport on Monday and heading north, but we have Sunday night to get a...

    Tile over cement and brick?

Ok, fellow Home Brewers, do it yourselfers and anyone that may have input. My front porch is looking pretty rough and I was thinking that maybe I would tile it. The problem is that it is cement that is cracking some and has a brick border. Can I tile over both surfaces? Obviously it needs to...

If I was just starting out, I would go with these kegs

If I was just starting to keg, I would go with these kegs and sanke couplers. Kegworks has them now at a reasonable price. $59.99 http://www.kegworks.com/5-gallon-pet-homebrew-keg-with-us-sankey-coupler-fitting-778-p178096?ecid=mybuysprodrec I have a pretty good supply of cornies, but I...

    Score!

I was talking to a neighbor the other day. He sold his house and said that he had, as he called it, an old beer cooler on his back deck that he needed to get rid of and I could have it if I wanted it. I went over and checked it out today and this is what I found. I took it home and plugged it...

    Diet Killer Dry Irish Stout

I ended up making about 5 3/4 gallons, kegging a little under 5 gals and bottling the rest. Had a bottle after 3 weeks and it was very good. So good, in fact, that I'm sure that once I tap the keg, I'm sure my diet will be out the window. Hence the name Diet Killer. If you are a Guinness fan...

    Money Savers?

So...have you ever purchased something under the guise that it would save you money, but you knew that it really wasn't the case? Maybe sold your significant other, or yourself ;) on the purchases by explaining that it will save a ton of money. For example, I bought a Barley Crusher a...

    Armadillo Run Road Kill Red

I started this off trying to make a Fat Tire clone but my first attempt was too hoppy. I changed the hops (to what I happened to have on hand) and came up with something that is certainly not Fat Tire but is close enough for the Fat Tire drinkers and is a very good, well balanced beer. I have...

Keezer: I guess it's my turn

I finally started to get serious on my build. A couple of months ago, I found this for $60 this at a garage sale. It's a 5 cu ft Magic Chef. It has a nice small footprint and with a collar still easily holds 4 ball locks and my 5lb CO2. I built a collar out of some old oak table...

    Garage Sale Score!

I found these at two different houses today. $60 for the freezer (Magic Chef 5.0) it will hold 4 corneys with a collar and I think I can squeeze my 5lb co2 cylinder inside too! $7 for the ball lock keg! I saw it sitting there and asked the guy what he wanted for it. He said 10 bucks. As I...

    I am Amazed

As I sit her watching the football game sipping on a Pale Ale (Yoopers Pale Ale) that I brewed, I amazed that I can brew a beer that is a good as most any that I can buy. I have only been brewing for a few of months, but is the best hobby/obsession that I have ever had. I am also a bit druck;)
