Trying to fill bottles using a "poor man's CPBF"

Room temp. My options for chilled storage aren't all that great right now.

Trying to fill bottles using a "poor man's CPBF"

Yeah I literally just saw this after posting. It gives me some stuff to try at the very least. Thanks!

Trying to fill bottles using a "poor man's CPBF"

I brewed a batch of Pliny the Younger last month, and its been kegged for about two weeks now, sitting at 25psi. Now, I've talked with a couple of local home brew shops, who both agree that the idea I had would work (one of them even said he uses a similar setup for the same purpose)...

Seeking suggestions for mead to try

Okay great. I doubt they're in western mass, but I'll check out Table and Vine and see what they have. Thanks!

Seeking suggestions for mead to try

Got a friend of mine looking to try mead for the first time, and is seeking advice on a relatively inexpensive mead that is readily available, represents the style, and is highly suggested. We live in the New England area, if location is a factor as well. :ban:

    Hot plate rewiring question

While I don't have it with me right now, it is most definitely a hot plate, capable of 450°C. Also, no, that's just a power indicator light.

    Hot plate rewiring question

    Great idea. Thanks.

    Hot plate rewiring question

Hopefully this is the correct forum for this question (apologies if not), but I've just been told that I can take a broken hot plate home to try and fix it for brewing, since it would be tossed in the dumpster otherwise. The maintenance guy here where I work seems to think the thermostat switch...

Looking to upgrade my setup, seeking suggestions and advice

To put it simply, I'm looking to upgrade my burner, as well as to acquire a chiller and pump. I'll explain specifically below: Burner: Right now, I have a 35k burner that I use, installed on a custom framework, that used to work perfectly with 2-3 gallon batches. However, I've migrated...

Mexican Cake clone info - directly from Westbrook Brewery

Brewed it Sunday, will post stats tomorrow, and flavor thoughts around Christmas week. The Head Brewer at Westbrook Brewery is willing to test the batch too, to tell me how close it came to the original.

Can I add mango juice to my IPA?

I second this. Bottled juice is often times simply sugar water, and not necessarily real juice. Definitely use pure mango juice which you make yourself.

Mexican Cake clone info - directly from Westbrook Brewery

Absolutely. I've done exchanges before. Will let you know when it's done.

Mexican Cake clone info - directly from Westbrook Brewery

Definitely. The local shop owner at DIY Brewing in Ludlow MA is heavily into stouts, or so he says. I've left it to him to formulate a recipe, and I'm fairly certain it'll work out great. Will definitely update, perhaps with photos of the process as well as the final result.

Mexican Cake clone info - directly from Westbrook Brewery

So I recently posted a thread regarding my search for a Mexican Cake clone recipe, and was fruitless. Seems as though nobody has a decently close one. So I emailed the brewery itself, and much to my surprise, got a response. The result of that conversation is pasted below. Obviously they...

It's a long shot, but seeking info on a Mexican Cake clone

I actually now have info directly from Westbrook Brewing on guidance for a clone recipe. I may post it in a new thread, but my weekend has been decided - I'm brewing a Mexican Cake clone!

Starting to build an electric setup...

Yeah, 240v is certainly more expensive, given the extra power usage as well as the modifications to my house. I'll take the 120v advice into consideration however, as that grants mobility to me. I did discover some info that a local brew guy offered me. Supposedly, we need constant...

It's a long shot, but seeking info on a Mexican Cake clone

As the title suggests, I'm seeking out a Mexican Cake clone. As it stands, I've searched Google as well as this forum, only to have come up with just about nothing. The search result for the forum included numerous threads with titles not referring to Mexican Cake, so I'd have to skim through...

Starting to build an electric setup...

Parts to switch to a 240v outlet wouldn't be an issue. My issue lies in the fact that I'm certainly no electrician (my friend is one though), and that it would be nice to go mobile. However, that last part is strictly out of convenience. To get to the important stuff, how quickly would two...
