THANKS! What wattage bucket heater are you using? A little confused on their MAXIMUM LOAD: 880W at 110V or 1960W at 240V

Nano Brewer System from Colorado Brewing

right. Mine is basically 24"x24", so 5 gallons is just too shallow.

Nano Brewer System from Colorado Brewing

depends on the kettle dimensions. I BIAB in a 25 gallon, and really can't do anything less then 10 gallons in it.

Champagne yeast for high Gravity RIS

1056? S-05? As long as you pitched the correct cell count, I don't see why you'd necessarily need to add a second strain. Either of those could theoretically get the proper attenuation for that beer-- depending on factors like mash temp and pitch rate

    Barleywine yeast question

I would, yes, just to be safe. I've had mixed results not adding more, depending on how long you bulk condition before bottling.

145 Gallon BIAB, yes 145 gallon!

Makers 46 - French Oak Staves

Porter, Stout, Barleywine... my favorite oaked styles. It certainly wont take 3 ft of stave to do a 5 gallon batch, thats for sure

    Is a ruined batch inevitable?

Ive had to dump a couple. 2 high fermentation temps with Notty, and were just awful, and 1 super high fermentation when my temp controller went haywire and left the heater on and jumped the beer temp to over 100. So actually I guess all 3 were high temps haha

Help: Brewha BIAC or "traditional Electric Brewery build"

I had totally thought of doing the same thing. Then my lazy side kinda kicked in and thought how easy it would be just to order the package. But either way absolutely works, your way might save you some money and get a little nicer control side of things, but obviously has a lot more leg work...

Help: Brewha BIAC or "traditional Electric Brewery build"

BIAC no question for me, as long as you don't mind the vessel being tied up during fermentation. Its a beautiful, JACKETED, conical. Temp control for mash and fermentation. Sanitation done. Just noticed yesterday they switched to new heating elements that visually are much better than the ones...

I LOVE waking up to hot strike water. Easy as 1-2-3.

Literally just got mine in the mail this morning and haven't touched it yet. Its only two prong, so no ground, thus the admonition I'm assuming for no metal containers. Gotta be on a GFCI breaker, or more likely, straight into a GFCI plug. Thought about suspending mine somehow in the middle of...
