    American Wheat - Hefeweizen help

Okay thanks, ya maybe I should scrap the honey malt altogether then. I guess I would prefer a little more of a citrus flavor anyhow. The PNW varieties don't really have that sweetness to them but rather every brew pub seems to just dump a bowl full of lemon wedges in each pitcher they serve...

    American Wheat - Hefeweizen help

I'm looking to brew an American Wheat slash "American Hefeweizen". My parents are coming down to hang with my family and they both like the Bert Grant style beers, Pyramid, Widmer, ect that come from the Pacific Northwest. Any hoots, this is what I got so far to get "in the neighborhood" as I'm...

    Bobbrews Brew Kit info...stretching here

What's your source though? I've read countless claims for both sides of it with more leaning towards its fine. I'm looking to hear it from others that know from experience by having done something like this in the past. If that's you, elaborate a bit more on your experience.

    Bobbrews Brew Kit info...stretching here

Okay, I came upon a score of some brew equipment from a guy that works in my building. Its basically duplicates of everything I already have but there was a few new gadgets I didn't have. That's neither here or there because what's troubling me is an UNOPENED kit he never used. He can't...

    Regulator setup help

hmmm...I'll have to see if I can find some type of valve I can put in place of those bibs then. Until then I may have to try the cap. I guess it probably has identical effect though of the valve. Maybe higher chance of gas escaping from the cap though.

    Regulator setup help

Kaz - When you are just using ONE of the regulators for a product how do you keep the other regulator from spewing co2? One guy told me to get a 1/4" flare cap and screw it on. Is that what you do with yours? I thought all I would have to do is screw it all the way in but gas still comes out. HELP!

    Dual regulator ISSUES, help!

Okay, so I do need to buy a threaded flare cap to lock the air out. So, its okay for co2 to go into the second regulator and be stopped in its track by a flare cap then? Here's an actual pic of my setup incase any others have ideas. Its just weird because I was under the assumption that I would...

    Dual regulator ISSUES, help!

I need some help before I kill myself here. Already damn near broke my nose, and broke my new regulator before I even had it set up. I have a Cornelius dual regulator I bought for ONE corny keg now, and I'll be adding a second in April. Picture this: I have one tube hooked up to the first...

    Regulator setup help

Okay, I'm done trying to look through the old posts for info to double check what I am preparing to buy is what I NEED. Too many damn wannabe scientists on here! Here's simple for you: I have one Corny keg, soon to be TWO corny kegs after I receive this regulator in mail and immediately start...

    Delayed yeast pitch consequences?

Temp has been STEADY at 75 throughout in a bath tub upstairs with water half way up the bucket. Its been low 80's down here, but I got dedicated upstairs AC set at 76 and that's kept the water temp at 74-75 the past 33 hours. So ya, I'm right at the top of the spectrum but I've read if there's...

    Recipe suggestions needed

I have a batch fermenting right now and I was originally set on adding apricot extract when I put in secondary on Saturday. This batch is going to be bottled and set aside until probably mid May or early June. This is the first batch I've kind of gone on my own with in terms of not really...

    Delayed yeast pitch consequences?

Yes, all good to know. Everything seems to be fine as it was going crazy lastnight. This batch was explosive, bubbling out the top of the air lock. I'm going to have a blow off setup ready for future batches as I didn't have one and was staring at the late hours of the night when I saw this...

    Delayed yeast pitch consequences?

That's what I was figuring and hoping. Hopefully my sanitation was adequate then. There's one span of two hours where it sat in my bath tub without the lid on and I wish I could go back. Nothing and no one was around it but I should have just put the damn lid on.

    Delayed yeast pitch consequences?

Hello all, I am recently new to home brewing and ran into a bit of trouble lastnight with my third batch I've brewed. I was brewing a wheat malt extract (dry) that I am going or "was" going to be making some Apricot Ale with if it still turns out. I used ice the first two times around to...
