    5 years ... 75+ brews... 1st dumper....

    my 3rd batch (a hefewiezin) seemed bad to me. so i gave it to both my sisters (who dont mind crap beer) and they thought it was good. but it taste like garbage to me.

    serving temps

    ive noticed that alot of belgians are supposed to be served at around 55f. does this serving temp apply only to certain belgian styles, or is this a serving recommendation that applies to high gravity beers?

    i got frusterated and backhanded the plastic fermenting vessel, after the initial few bubbles from pressure i created with my *****-slap technique, were now looking at a bubble per minute. damn leaky plastic fermenter knows whos boss now. i think ill blast some KC and the sunshine band tonight.

    im doing a belgian that has 5 lbs light dme, 2 lbs wheat dme, 1 lb honey and 1 lb candi sugar, and 1lb of steeping grains. the kit also comes with 1 tbsp ground corriander and 1/2 oz bitter orange peel. i am using wyeast 1214 belgian abbey i am considering adding 1 star of anise, 1 vanilla...

    i wonder just how hard you cant beat the smack pack before the whole thing explodes. i felt like i was really hammering the damn thing, anyone know just how much force the container can handle?

    for real! the packet was already a bit swollen during my many attempts to pop it, i was beating the hell out of this thing and thought i popped it, it even started swelling alot while it was sitting on the counter during the boil. i guess it was hard to tell since it was swollen already.
