If you are pressed for time, why do you homebrew?

I reckon it depends what you do with your newly "earned" free time, doesn't it? IF, by shortening your brew day, you free up one hour to only waste it rotting away in front of the television, I suggest you're no further ahead. On the other hand, IF you invest the extra time with family or...

Perfect point. If you want to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe. - Carl Sagan PS: Sorry for reviving a dead thread.

2 Pole GFCI Breaker With 4 Wire Cord?

    Nevermind ;)

Take a Look at my Breaker Panel...

Panel GFCI is the outlet which is right next or below the panel. It should be the only item on this circuit, and it should (per the label) be a GFCI outlet. It does not mean the entire panel is GFCI protected.

I never would have thought of that. Way to think outside the box!

    Extension Cord for Heatstick

Walker is right; I was thinking with tunnel-vision and didn't take into acount that we are talking about a heating element (which has a constant resistivity). Thanks Walker; I've gone back and corrected my post :)

The Big Bottle Brew - Mexican Cerveza - With Pics and Video

Yeah that's possible. Plus you could re-use the bottle and whatnot to try a mini-batch of this or that with reduced recipes. I'm planning on trying a couple different meads... It might be good for those who want to try making their own wort/cider/mead without making 5 gallons at a time and...

The Big Bottle Brew - Mexican Cerveza - With Pics and Video

Hey folks, As you can see, the Big & Easy Bottle Brew has great carbonation levels and clarity is much better than I expected from a 2-L bottle brew! I chose the Mexican Cerveza. Although it is not much more cost-effective than commercial beer (I paid $4.25 + 13% tax for the 2L kit)...

    Chill Haze?

I think I found my answer in another thread... the residual sediment (whether stirred up during transfer, or still suspended in the beer) settles near the dip tube after tranferring to the keg. Because of that, the sediment is sucked up with the beer for the first couple pints. Makes sense...

    Beer line issue maybe?

If the keg is pressurized, a leak in the CO2 line or poppet won't make a difference... you're still putting in more CO2 than letting out (positive flow into the keg). You may run out of CO2 faster, but as long as the KEG is being PRESSURIZED, the CO2 lines, fittings, poppets, etc, won't cause a...

    Chill Haze?

I should mention I'm just getting back into homebrewing, but I've done a substantial amount of it in the past. I've kegged and also bottled in the past, and I haven't had this issue. Some were cloudy (maybe like the second from the right: Turbidity of 20) but nothing like this one.

    Chill Haze?

I'm carbing at 12psi, keg is sitting at a nice 4 celcius or so. It was clear (could see to bottom of corny keg with flashlight) when i kegged it, but now it has chill haze... When I was racking it into the keg, it appeared clear as water (like the beaker on the far right). Now that it is...

What Would You Do... with old beer kits?

If the ends of a can are bulging, it probably means it's spoiled. Botulism is not good--google it: paralysis, etc. Toss them. They're cheap to replace anyway.

Any problem with the length of this run

As an electrician I'll second that problems only usually arise after 100ft or so. Even then it's not pronounced. 50ft will be fine.
