How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

I used a 9V battery. When I started to etch the keggle, the liquid kept turning yellow, and it never seemed to get a very strong etch.

How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

I practiced on my SS spoon and I keep getting blotchy and/or discolored marks. What causes this and how might I fix it? pic

How would I categorize this beer?

I made a Basil-Lime Saison. I want to classify it as a 21A (Vegetable/Herb/Spice Beer), but I don't think the basil and lime really stand out significantly. Would 23A (Specialty Beer) be a better designation?

Clasp for dual hinged keezer collar.

Ended up just using a single heavy duty velcro strip. Works great! The stock springs are able to hold the weight of everything nicely.

    Outdoor brew stand questions

So, I am interested in building one of those unistrut brew stands, but I do not and will not have any indoor space to store it for the foreseeable future. Does anyone have a brew stand that is stored outside? If so, how do you protect it? Are there any extra precautions or care instructions...

Clasp for dual hinged keezer collar.

I recently converted the GE 7cf freezer from HD with painted 2x6's and chose to make it double hinged (stock hinges connect to collar and door hinges from collar to lid.) I did this because I would like to maintain the ability to revert the freezer back to its original condition. Everything...

    Freezer hinge question

Thanks, that worked. It just required a lot more force than I expected. Had to use a screwdriver to pry it out. Also, it didn't seem like there was a hole that I could put a nail through when the lid was shut, so I just shoved two screens criss-crossed behind the spring. That seems to work.

    Freezer hinge question

How do I get this top plastic piece off? I keep trying to pull the sides but it feels like it is going to break. This is a GE 7 cf from Home Depot.

What is/was growing on this tube?

What is this stuff? I have seen stuff like it on a few bottles of beer before but never thought anything of it.

Munich Helles 2011 1st Place HBT- Light lager- Augustiner Lagerbier Hell

So, in retrospect, this beer turned out very clean flavor and clarity-wise, but accidentally using the whole pound of melanoiden has made this thing a malt bomb.

So who's worked in their main electrical panel?

Like I said, I wasn't making a comment on anything other than the question "do electrons have momentum?"
  17. TacoBrew

So who's worked in their main electrical panel?

I'm not supporting anything else that has been said, but electrons do have momentum. They have mass and they move. The momentum of an individual electron travelling near the speed of light is miniscule (~ 10^-29 kg m/s, I believe) and even if you were bombarded with 1000 amps for a second that...

So who's worked in their main electrical panel?

Wtf do you mean our body cycles at 70 hz? By that I meann what cycles? Also, 60 hz is 60 cycles per second. What does that have to do with a 60 bpm heartbeat?

    Star Trek or Star Wars?

While I wouldnt suggest it, you could use tonic water. It's UV reactive. Think the quinine would not be a good flavor though. But ya that wouldn't work for a schwarzbierb anyhow...

    Is there a "Light"er Stout?

Could do a schwarzbier if you can lager. Not a stout but same characteristics and usually lighter body.
