    Hi everyone, im ready to bottled a Xmas ale with spices (2row, little bit aromatic, chocolate malt, crystal), so im out of dextrose right now, i have piloncillo and dark sugar,.. so, can i expect good flavor and of course good carbonation using it? thanks for any advice,... :mug:

    how about the water chemistry, it might be an issue to me too, i agree about the refractometer accurate readings, i only use in pre-fermentation and after that that i use the hydrometer cheers! Al

    i added 1.5 lbs of dextrose to my tripel becouse i want to drive it to 9% avb, before that i was in ~7.8 %, looks like it finish activity in the airlock in a couple of days

    yes, same here I added just the way posted above to my first tripel, i just reduced a little bit the temp to avoid some flavors,. done well
