It was sometime in August. A guy I work with cut it out and brougt it into me. It was mostly about homebrewing in central PA, but discussed the local microbreweries. It was a good article. Took up several pages.

Never dump your beer!!! Patience IS a virtue!!! Time heals all things, even beer!

In Augsust I brewed an Oktoberfest. I tried to lager it by keeping in a water tub with ice bottles in it, but that didn't work so well. The temp was inconsistent between 50-60* for almost 2 weeks. I then racked it into a secondary. It had some off flavors. Couple weeks later I checked on it and...

I want to brew a special beer

the name of the town is Masten. That is all that is left behind, foundations and a lone chimney, railroad beds and other relics if you know where to look. It has long been reclaimed by mother nature. It is the trailhead of the Old Loggers Path, which is a great hiking trail. You can camp right...

I want to brew a special beer

for a camping trip that I am doing the weekend before Halloween. The beer must be bottled and ready to drink by then. The campsite is in an old ghost town that was a sawmill town in the early 1900s and vanished around the great depression. All that is left are a few foundations, old rail beds...

With the hurricane, what better to do than brew?

Brewed an English Pale Ale outside in the pouring rain and wind last night. Got it all done and yeast pitched just in time for the power to go out. It's still out, but the EPA is fermenting away down in the basement. No telling when we will have electricity again. 15,000 people in the York, PA...
