    1st extract wheat with home grown hops

    got a real nice crop of hops from my centennial plants. so I brewed up a extract wheat to try it out. 12lbs of NB wheat extract added 1/2 oz of dried hops at start of boil and another 1/2 oz with 10 min to go. tried ferm cap in the boil to control the foam with some success. cooled it down...

    beersmith...did I f up?

    beersmith hop addition times cascade @60 and 30 willamette @15 and 5 I did willy 5 min into the boil and 15 min into the boil cascade at 30 and at flame out.......did I do it backazzwords?

    dam on call

    worked at the Perlick factory today

    I made a brisket and it turned out tender and tasty first I marinaded it in a mix of jerky seasoning and a couple of home brew pale ale for about 4 hours. then I put it on my smoker using charcoal briquettes for a hour. then into a 200 deg oven for about 12 hours,until internal temp was 185...

    my 1st quality contol issue

    bottled a batch of beer,noticed something floating in one bottle. looked like a snot ball then I saw a worm looking thing half stuck to the bottom. rechecked all the others they where ok this one must have slipped by...gross

    did I kill my yeast?

    sanitized the safale 05 packet in my bucket of one step...the water was still pretty warm, hot in fact. then realized sh## its too hot...pitched it anyway and after 8 hours not much action. so I re pitched some more. so did I kill my yeast?

    woo hoo my first blowoff

    brewed a NB Karls 90 and put it in a 5 gal carboy,I thought it looked a little small for a primary but it was all I had for a empty. luckly I used a 1in blowoff tube and a 2 gal catch bucket because the tube is full of foam at least it will get rid of some of the floating grain and crap

    hello from Milwaukee

    just started home brewing a month ago and its addicting! bought a Mr beer kit then another fermenter. then a 6 gal carboy and a 5 gal secondary fermenter. its nice that Northern Brewer is only 5 miles from my house. anyway nice place you have here,lots of info thanks mike
