    Guilty as Charged?

Ok I know I'm not the only one...who else does it? I find a kit beer that I absolute love, change maybe one or two small ingredients that I think will make it better, and then call it my own with its own name. Im sorry its just the best way to make sure all my beers I make are fantastic.

    Is This Heaven? No...It's Brewin

Just an amazing day I'm having. Currently mashing my Front Porch IPA, while a 9lb pork shoulder has been smokin away in the smoker since 1am for pulled pork, and watching college gameday. Is it fair to have life this good?

What do you do with old beers?

So I have some old beers that I brewed last fall I just never got to drinking. Basically an array of all the different beers I brewed last year that just got lost in the shuffle. What do you do with your old beers? Do you drink em? Give em to friends? Do they taste old and have lost...

    Hop Beat Down Main Event

Wanted to make an IPA using chinook for bittering and then amarillo, cascade, and simcoe for flavoring and aroma. Anyone used this combo? Would these blend well together or try to beat each other down in the bottle? I'm not tryin to play mediator between a bunch of angry hops

    This Heat is Causing Withdrawals

This damn heat is keeping me from brewing. The water temperature coming out of my faucet on all the way cold has to be close to 90 degrees. Takes me forever to cool my beer down enough to pitch my wort, even with an immersion chiller. I've been waiting until a break in the heat to brew again...

Can't Put My Finger On What's Missing

This is my extract recipe of an American Red Ale I brewed a little while back. It's been bottled about a month now but when I drink it it just tastes like something's missing. It's just not a great beer. Can anyone look at the recipe and see anything obvious? I can't put my finger on it...

I'll Pay to Have a Logo and 4 Labels Created

I am looking to have a logo designed for my homebrewery. I have a picture that I want to somehow incorporate in the logo. To go along with that I have 4 styles of beers that I would like to have labels created for. I have a picture for each of these that I would like incorporated into the...

Newb looking for opinions on my first recipe

I started homebrewing not too long ago. Have done 7 or 8 extract kits with pretty good results. This is my first shot at coming up with an extract recipe of my own and hoping to take that next step in homebrewing. It's my play on a red. Please tell me your thoughts. (and hopefully be gentle)...

Bottled IPA: Drink it young or let it age

I recently brewed a Simcoe IPA. This was my first IPA to brew. I have gotten mixed signals online. Some say to drink IPA's young, about 2 weeks after bottling, so as to not have the hops fade away. Others have said let it age 8-12 weeks before drinking. What is everyone's opinion? I have...

Is this picture mold in my beer?...If it is, Can I still Bottle?

This is a simcoe IPA. 2 1/2 weeks in the primary and everything was looking good. I racked to the secondary and its been about a week now and this started developing yesterday. Is this mold? If it is can I still bottle the beer underneath the surface of the mold? I'd hate to see it all go...

    Priming Sugar Mistake When Bottling

I just recently completed my first home brew. It's a nut brown ale that I had in the primary for 2 weeks, the secondary for 1 week, and in the bottle for 3 weeks now. I messed up when bottling my beer and measured out 3/4 cup of sugar using a kitchen measuring cup instead of putting 2 and 2...
