    Chiller question

Thanks for the pics! It's all slowly starting to make sense now. So the next picture with the green tub is your pre-chiller where the hose water mixes with the ice and then pumped to your IC where it cools the wort and then out to drain wherever.

    Chiller question

That helps a lot thanks. I will be using gas on my setup. As far as buying or building I can do both. I like to DIY as much as possible but not a deal breaker on any one chiller. I really don't know how fast I would want to chill, I'm still new and learning but I'm assuming you would want to...

    Chiller question

Thanks for the info Grizzly. Well I'm not sure what kind of hops I will be using but I do know that I will probably start out with 5 gallon batches and then once I find something I really like will more than likely do it in a 10 gallon so it sounds like I should stay away from an immersion...

    Chiller question

Hey guys, needing some of your expert knowledge. I'm slowly building up my equipment which includes a single tier, 3 keg setup but was wondering what chiller you think would work best. From all I've read looks like a lot of people use the counter-flow chiller. Is there any pros/cons to using...

Thanks guys!! I'll definitely post some pics as soon as I start my next project. Just finished my HLT (keggle) and am currently in the process of acquiring two more kegs....legally of course. Hopefully I'll have some spare time this week to start on my stand and take some pics....How about...

Hi guys, New brewer here from OK. I'm brand new to AG brewing. As a matter of fact, I have yet to attempt an AG yet. I've done several extract batches but love all the options AG has to offer. I'm slowly fabricating all the equipment needed to get started. My next project is going to be a...

    Sight glass question

Thanks guys! It seems to me that having the thermometer that close to the heat would give you false readings so I will probably just stick with sight glass and use a digital thermometer like Bobby suggested. Is it any different on a MLT as far as placement of a thermometer? I've seen some on...

    Sight glass question

Hey guys! I have a question about sight glass combos. I'm getting ready to convert a keg into a brew kettle and was wondering if I should go with a sight glass/thermometer combo or a sight glass with a separate thermometer? Are their any advantages/disadvantages to one over the other? Thanks...
