A swamp cooler just seems like so much work. I've placed thermometors in a couple areas of the basement and hope to get accurate reads for dofferent temps. I guess now ill just hope winter comes soon so the overall household temp will be lower. That would probably help I'd imagine. Might just...

    green beer?

honestly im not sure exactly what the temp was. im confident that it was nowhere over 75 degrees, although we have had a lot of heat lately it stays relatively cool in the dark basement. im going to make sure to monitor the heat in that area and do what i need to do to keep it in range.

I used a priming sugar, people have commented before that using dry malt extract works just as well.

What do you do for a living?

Train conductor on a class 3 shortline railroad. Its been an interest of mine for a while and I'm really thankful to have the job. Although hours can be tough I really think it is outweighed by the nature of the job. You never know what might happen day to day. As far as hobbies go...

    Purple Haze clone recipe?

Should I boil the extract or something to sanitize it? My guess is no as it would mess up the taste but I thought I'd ask.

    Purple Haze clone recipe?

to switch it up a little bit i went out and bought blackberry extract (my LHBS actually had the extracts, sweet!) and based on what i had read, adding the extract at the time of bottling like jgourd did will give you a fruitier taste as apposed to a more mellow taste as if you had added it...
