    Probably a dumb question

How does it taste? Also, do you use a plastic or glass primary? I had an Irish red get severely oxidized after 9 months in a plastic fermenter. It was completely undrinkable. I seem to remember reading somewhere that brew buckets are permeable to oxygen.

    sober people go away!!!!

At first glance I thought you said "take the beers with you," and I thought to myself, "wow I'd be happy to". But yeah, don't worry. The colts second string will pretty much rout the bears. Which is a good thing... since we're playing with a ton of second-string players. But like they...

Anyone else not mind mild skunkiness?

I think we get a lot of skunked imports here in the US, and just get accustomed to drinking it.

FML. Lost Flash Drive with Beer Recipes.

Lost it. I've been desperately trying to remember and write down what I've recently brewed. I'm going with paper notes from now on.

FML. Lost Flash Drive with Beer Recipes.

The title says it all. I lost a flash drive with all of my work for the last 5 years, my beer recipes, and pretty much a library of .pdf files that I will have to go and re-download. Oh... and the beer recipes/pdf files weren't backed up.

Is it good to use any household bleach for sanitizing

It's a pretty good cleanser, but lousy as a sanitizer. Don't get me wrong... bleach will kill almost anything, especially when acidified, but it has to be rinsed so thoroughly that you will potentially re-contaminate the surface you're sanitizing unless you're rinsing with a sanitizing solution...

    Cheapest Beer Recipe

All-grain is cheaper in the long-term, but you will have some additional start-up costs and it will take more time.

    Cheapest Beer Recipe

Hefeweizen is good, and has the virtue of being ready to drink soon. If you don't like the phenols and esters of hefeweizens, you can make an American Wheat by using something like S-05 instead of hefeweizen yeast. It might cut a couple of bucks off of your total Irish red is also pretty...

    Top three specialty grains

Wheat, Munich, Caramunich The first two aren't really specialty grains, are they? Either way, I'd buy them in bulk.

My name is Sam and I have a problem...

Only fundies think fundies have a monopoly on altruism. Pretty much all of us have stories like these, regardless of our beliefs (or lack thereof). You hardly need to be superstitious to treat those around you with kindness. So stop preaching.

    IPA recipe help

Too much of a pain to lauter, or you don't like the taste?

    Experment gone wrong...

Wierd. I did the same thing with milk and hibiscus tea, thinking it would taste and look pretty cool. It curdled in seconds. I would say that it's the acidity, but when you say mead doesn't curdle the milk I have to wonder. I thought mead was as acidic as wine.

Random Thoughts: High Gravity Rye Beer

Well... I can't come up with a reason not to brew this beer. I've altered the grain bill a bit to increase gravity and lighten the color. I hope to make a roggenbier from later runnings (maybe steep them in a bit of chocolate malt to darken). Roggenwein Info Volume: 6 gal OG: ~1.110 IBU: 74...

My name is Sam and I have a problem...

I have to wonder... how many people did you murder because you were living the amoral, godless life of a heathen bereft of any moral compass? Probably quite a few. I know the only reason I don't get road rage on the morning commute is the fact that my girlfriend and I both make a point of...
