    Something like this? https://www.morebeer.com/products/gas-manifold-14-aluminum.html

    Bad Drivers

Technically, you didn’t run a red light because you pulled into the intersection when it was green, and you have the right of way when the light turns red because you’re already in the intersection. At least that’s what I was taught in drivers ed way back when

How Much Sugar Is Consumed By Lacto During Kettle Souring?

It depends on how long the boil was. If it was just brought to a boil to pasteurize I would use the original gravity, if it was boiled for an hour use the post boil gravity.

    First Timer

The confusion about your gravity reading is because specific gravity readings are typically written to 3 significant digits. So the question was where did the missing digit belong, before or after the 8? Both are fairly common.

Why does my beer have no alcohol?

If you made an extract batch with a partial boil, meaning that you added water after the boil, most likely it wasn’t mixed thoroughly and you starting gravity measurement is wrong. If it’s an extract batch and your starting volume was correct it’s very unlikely that your starting gravity will...

    Best temp to steep grains?

The argument is that you have a very small amount of grain in a very large amount of water so the PH would be high which at high temperatures will extract tannins. Whether that happens or not in practice I don’t know.

    Tilt Hydrometer

I use brewpal on my iPhone and when you email the recipe it includes the beerxml file

    Tilt Hydrometer

To connect your tilt to brewstat.us. First create a device on the site and copy the url they give you into the cloud logging url in the settings in the tilt app. Then create a recipe on the site and tie that recipe to your device

    Wort Chiller

Are you stirring the wort while you’re chilling? If not, give it a try, your chilling time will drop significantly.

    Cock up

Unlike math where 1.08 is the same as 1.080, when taking measurements with scientific instruments 1.08 is not the same as 1.080. Writing the number to the third decimal place indicates the instrument you’re using to take your measurement is capable of reading to the third decimal place. 1.08...

Brewers Tool Belt 2.0 released - now free

I downloaded and tried it out. One issue I noticed was that when entering info on a recipe you have to hit enter after you enter each piece of data. If you tap on a field and enter a value then tap on another field and enter something without hitting the enter key the data is not saved. The...

    Distilling to get non-alcoholic beer?

There was a basic brewing episode from January 9th about this. They liked the beer but he didn’t get all the alcohol out

    Probably a Dumb Question

I'd stick with the directions. The advantage to the Mr beer directions is that you don't have to chill and since you're not boiling the wort (it would change the hop profile it you did so you shouldn't) there's no reason to boil the full volume of water.

    Adding White sugar during fermentation

I try to use as little water as I can, maybe start with 250 ml and add more if you need it. I always bring it to a boil to both sanitize it and to get it to fully dissolve. 29C is very warm. What yeast are you using? If you're using a saison yeast 29 will work fine, but if you're using a normal...

    Adding White sugar during fermentation

If my recipe calls for sugar I usually add it to the fermenter rather than in the boil. Add the sugar to enough water to dissolve it. Bring it to a boil and add it to the fermenter. I typically don't even wait for it to cool, it's a very small amount of water added to a very large amount so the...

    Refrigeration reduces carbonation issue

Cold liquids absorb more CO2 than warm liquids. Most likely your CO2 is coming out of solution more readily when the beer is warm giving you a fizzy drink when you first pour it. It's probably only lightly carbonated at this point. How much priming sugar did you add and how long has it been in...

    Help brewing with pineapple?

That's an odd thing to say. The rum will have relatively little sugar compared to all that fruit that he's adding.

Anyone perfected a Pineapple Hard Cider?

There was a club that had an amazing pineapple cider at Homebrewcon 2015 in Baltimore. They said that they would be publishing the recipe on their club website. Unfortunately, I don't remember what club it was. I think they were from New York. I checked the sites of the clubs that were there...
