    what to brew

    I am looking for something to brew tomorrow, using 16 lb of marris otter and 11 lb 2 row for base grain. I have a wide variety of hops in the freezer and a good assortment of speciality grains on hand. Yeast would be 1056 . I'm thinking some sort of ipa , 2xipa . I've really been a fan of epic...

    Better beer

    So I've been brewing for a few years now, currently I batch sparge, using a 50 qt cooler, brew pot is 10 gallon st ock pot no modifications.with a bayou burner. As for fermentation I have a ferm chamber I built out of a mini fridge and r board but lacks temp control,i just check on it frequently...

    Refractometer

    Would a refractometer used for brewing be the same as one used for saltwater fish keeping? Used to check the sg of the water

    Dry Hopping

    So my last batch was NBs' extract extra pale ale and I dry hopped with an ounce of Cascade but tasting it now after being bottled 2 weeks it doesn't seem all that noticeable(was dry hopped for a week). Is there a point where the amount of dry hops you add stop mattering? Would 4 oz give similar...

    Success

    So after about three mr beer batches,just the basic recipes with mediocre results I decided to try five gallon extract with steeping grains,Hanks Hefeweizen from midwest and am quite impressed with the results and they've only been in the bottle a week-thanks to everyone for the advice I have...
