can you raoteta pump heads on a march pump?

Dumb question, but i couldn't find an answer. Can you rotate the pump head on a march pump to change the inlet/outlet to a different orientation? I just got my second pump and want to attach to the right side of my single tier setup but if I mirrored the way the first pump is on the left side of...

So I am putting together my weldless brewstand this weekend and am thinking about next steps equipment wise. http://www.strutchannelfittings.com/THK-12001-KIT-BEER-BREWING-STAND-KIT--3-KEG-316L-STAINLESS-STEEL-TOP-SURFACE-WITH-BALANCE-OF-STRUT-AND-FITTINGS-BLACK-POWDER-COATED_p_1187.html...

    Solid strut single tier build

I am looking to get this same setup from strutchannelfittings.com. I have blichmann burners. Has anyone else used them to attach to this rig? They have a bit of an odd shape since their designed to be attached to their top tier system, so I'M curious what attachments I need from the strut...

Not enough english yeast. can I add s-05 to make up the diff?

SO a friend is coming over today to brew a maple porter with English yeast (whitelabs English ale WLP002). We forgot to double up yeast vials since we don't have time for a starter so we are low on cell count with just one vial. I have a packet of s-05 in the fridge. Can i thrown that in there...

kezer colalr: Uneven and gaps. what to do?

The problem is the screws just wouldn't connect the wood flush. Not sure what I can do differently that would make that happen. How do I use the shims? Like, really long shims all on the inside of the gap? it seems Like I can easily fix the gaps in the wood with sealant. They're not huge. my...

kezer colalr: Uneven and gaps. what to do?

The gaps in the connected wood pieces are quite small (See first photo). I think I can seal them up from the inside with silicone sealant no problem, and then add some insulation padding along the inside as well as double protection against cooling loss. My real problem is that the entire...

kezer colalr: Uneven and gaps. what to do?

So I am making my first keezer collar using 2x8's. The problem I am running into is now that I've put the collar together with wood screws (and before affixing to the Keezer itself) i am noticing a few problem areas. First, there are small gaps between the wood pieces (I didn't do a miter...

quesrtion on using my keezer to chill wort

SO i had a disastrous brewday. Forgot to put the collar on my hop blocker while brewing ten gallons of IPA. needless to say I ran my pumps and nothing was coming out. I didn't have my old immersion chiller handy so I had to improvise by just dumping the hot wort into my fermenter and dumping...

Cocoa powder in the boil and using a plate chiller. Problems?

How much and for how long in the secondary did you use the nibs? I'm leaning towards nibs now. i just dont want to deal with the mess of the powder. Did you soak in vodka beforehand?

Cocoa powder in the boil and using a plate chiller. Problems?

thanks. i'm thinking of substituting cocoa nibs which i can strain out, but im not sure if that's best used in the fermentor or boil.

Cocoa powder in the boil and using a plate chiller. Problems?

So I am doing Jamil's chocolate hazelnut porter recipe. It calls for a half a pound of unsweetened cocoa powder in the last ten minutes of the boil. In his description it says it will look like "chocolate sludge in the fermentor". This worries me as I use a plate chiller (with a blichmann...

This estimated OG in Beersmith 2 can't possibly be right

well this is just odd. His book #'s must be off then.

This estimated OG in Beersmith 2 can't possibly be right

OK, putting it at a 6 gallon final batch and the numbers are better, but according to the recipe from his book, he says its for 5 gallons. he has a preboil volume of 7 gallons. and in his intro he says the recipes are set for a 6 gallons of wort in the kettle, with a half gallon loss from...

This estimated OG in Beersmith 2 can't possibly be right

I am doing Jamils chocolate hazelnut porter recipe. I dialed in the exact recipe from his book into Beersmith 2 with my equipment profile, and set to all grain 5 gallon, and its telling me the estimated SG is going to be 1.082. That makes no sense. The book tells me it should be a SG of 1.066...
